Peter Crouch is convinced Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp can help him re-establish his England credentials.
"Getting into the England team was a lot down to him. Harry and Jamie (Redknapp) were both at Southampton with me at the time and they pushed my case to get into the England squad. At that stage I think a lot of people were thinking 'he's not ready, there's no way he's an England player' and all that.
"They basically had faith in me when a lot of others didn't. I remember Jamie saying to me 'you'll play for England so believe in yourself' - and I've been in the England squad since.
"A lot of that I do owe to the manager here and to Jamie as well. I think that's why players often come to Portsmouth. Maybe they've not performed as well as they can at other clubs but they've come under the manager's guidance here and resurrected their careers.
"A lot of players have done that and it's no coincidence."
