Portsmouth set to land £9M Liverpool striker Crouch

Portsmouth are set to land Liverpool striker Peter Crouch in a £9 million deal.

The Sunday Mirror says Crouch has fallen out of favour with boss Rafa Benitez and Pompey were expected to table a bid for him during the January transfer window.

But Crouch and his advisers have struck a deal with Liverpool for him to remain at Anfield until the summer.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is a massive fan of the towering striker even though his first act when he took sole charge of Pompey in 2003 was to sell the star to Aston Villa for £7.5m.
