Portsmouth seek loan deal for Man City striker Sturridge

Portsmouth have made a loan bid for Manchester City striker Danny Sturridge.

Portsmouth have made a loan bid for Manchester City striker Danny Sturridge.

Pompey manager Tony Adams believes Sturridge can beef up his attack and will offer the striker wages of around £23,000 a week.

The England Under-19 star has been at Eastlands since 2006.

He was offered new terms but, with the contract unsigned, City are now ready to farm him out.

And if Adams can steer 15th-place Pompey to safety, the Fratton Park boss will try to sign him permanently.
