Stoke City striker Dave Kitson is wanted by Portsmouth.
However, the Mirror says Portsmouth will see a move for Kitson ruined - as their transfer embargo will not be lifted until at least next month.
The former Reading star is not wanted at Stoke - who paid £5.5m for him - and is training with the youth team.
Pompey hope to be given permission to exit administration when the Football League meet on September 9.
