Portsmouth midfielder Michael Brown could land at Nottingham Forest on loan.
The 34-year old has not played for Pompey since December because of a clause in his contract which will trigger a one-year extension and Forest boss Billy Davies may come in to rescue him from his south coast disaster.
Davies wants Brown on loan as he attempts to steer Forest back into the Premiership and could use Brown's extensive experience in helping him achieve his goal.
Portsmouth's hand has been forced after Brown refused to take a paycut but he may yet be saved from the debacle.
