The Ghana Football Association says German midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng has been cleared to play for them, reports BBC Sport. This means the 23-year-old Portsmouth midfielder will be available to line up for the Black Stars at this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
Boateng was named in Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac's 30-man squad for the finals despite the delay in his application to switch nationality.
Boateng will join the Ghana team for the first time in France later in May.
Two years ago, he chose to play for the Black Stars ahead of Germany, the country of his birth.
Boateng's father is a Ghanaian but the midfielder played for the German youth national teams before deciding to represent the Black Stars.
