Portsmouth rubbish reports of a player revolt

Portsmouth denied talk of a player revolt at Fratton Park.

Harry Redknapp rubbished talk of a bust-up with Sol Campbell in the wake of his absence from Saturday's win over Derby.

And the club have moved to deny players were unhappy at the deal given to Lassana Diarra in the wake of his £5.5m arrival from Arsenal.

Reports suggested players were up-in-arms over Diarra's £50,000-a-week wages after he signed a three-and-a-half-year deal last week.

But the Blues today laughed off the suggestion there was unrest among the players.

Pompey spokesman Gary Double told The News: 'It's absolute rubbish. Complete nonsense.

'Lassana played excellently on his debut and he will be a popular member of the squad.

'Let's just concentrate on the football rather than this rubbish.'
