The Daily Mail reports that David Nugent faces a January exit from Fratton Park as Harry Redknapp seeks to strengthen the strongest squad he has assembled in his two stints as Portsmouth manager.

The toiling England international has made a slow start to the season and has struggled to become part of Pompey's plans since his big money summer move from Preston.

Nugent was part of a strong Pompey XI beaten 3-1 by Tottenham's reserves on Tuesday night and was not on the score sheet.
