On-loan Portsmouth midfielder Jamie O'Hara believes the club are going the right way about ensuring they survive in the Premier League this season.
The Tottenham man said that the 2-0 home win against Liverpool shows they are a more than capable team and admits there is belief in the camp that Pompey will remain in the top flight come seasons end.
"Over the years, no-one has enjoyed coming to Fratton Park because of the atmosphere and we didn't give Liverpool time to settle - that's how you have to play against these big clubs," he said.
"We've been threatening a result like this for some time, but this performance showed we are ready to stay in the Premier League. Everyone wrote us off, but no-one in the dressing room thinks we're going to go down."
Despite Liverpool losing, O'Hara said he thought the club was good enough to bounce back from recent poor performances a mount a challenge for a top-four finish.
"Maybe something isn't quite gelling in the Liverpool team and something isn't quite right. They lost a couple of good players and it's difficult to replace the quality of people like Xabi Alonso," he added.
"You can never write them off and I still fancy them to be up there challenging for a Champions League spot, but nobody likes to get pressed and hounded, and we made sure they didn't have time on the ball."
