Portsmouth are ready to offer Michael Ball a Premiership lifeline.
The People says Fratton Park boss Paul Hart is after former City defender Ball, 29, who is currently a free agent.
The former Everton and PSV Eindhoven left-back was released from Eastlands at the end of last season.
