Portsmouth boss Tony Adams is planning a £10 million bid for Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora.
The News of the World says Adams sees the Ivory Coast star as the ideal replacement for Real Madrid-bound Lassana Diarra.
Spurs chief Harry Redknapp will be a reluctant seller as he has been impressed by the former St Etienne ace, who joined Tottenham for £8.2m in 2006.
But Redknapp may do business as he could use the £10m fee to strengthen his squad in other areas.
A Fratton Park insider said: "Tony has let it be known that he wants Zokora and he'll be ringing his old boss Harry in a bid to try and thrash out a deal."
