Portsmouth will stand in the way of manager Avram Grant if he decides to take the job he has been heavily linked with at West Ham.
The Israeli is the odds-on favourite to take the reins at Upton Park to replace Gianfranco Zola and it has been reported that Pompey will not ask for any compensation should he decide to leave.
Grant will be given permission by the south coast club to discuss terms with the Hammers and they will not demand any payment for the remaining three years on his contract.
Grant currently tops the Hammers' short-list from Blackburn's Sam Allardyce, Cardiff's Dave Jones and Blackpool's Ian Holloway.
