Portsmouth assistant boss Tony Adams believes Chelsea captain John Terry can emerge from his Champions League spotkick miss a better player.
"The wins? Yes, of course there was Anfield when we won the League in 1989 and the night we beat Parma in the 1994 Cup Winner's Cup Final. That really was against the odds.
"But it's the big defeats that have always stood out in my mind. They are the ones that hurt and they are the ones that test you.
"Like when we lost to Galatasaray in the UEFA Cup Final and losing FA Cup semifinals against Tottenham and Manchester United.
"Those setbacks stay with you and I am sure it will be the same for John Terry.
"I know how good he is as a player. But I also feel he is a very strong character. He will overcome any problem, I am sure of that."
