Portsmouth are moving for Middlesbrough captain George Boateng.

The Sunday Mirror says Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp hopes to land Dutch hardman Boateng on a free transfer.

Boateng has fallen out of favour and Redknapp needs cover for Sulley Muntari and Papa Bouba Diop, who are set to leave for African Nations Cup duty.
