Portsmouth keeper James joins Messi at Free Kick Masters comp

Portsmouth goalkeeper David James will be representing England and the Premiership in next month's Free Kick Masters competition in Houston, Texas.

Pompey pair James and Sulley Muntari are the latest stars to join the join the event, with organisers also announcing Brazilian coaches Jorginho and Dunga have signed on as referees.

James will be taking on some of the world's best free-kick takers, including Barcelona stars Deco and Lionel Messi.

The Free Kick Masters is an all-star competition, unique to the world of soccer as the only event that features elite international players in a direct shots-on-goal competition. It also features the largest single player event purse: the player crowned "Free Kick Master" will receive $1 million in cash and prizes. The "Golden Goalkeeper" title winner will receive $500,000 in cash and prizes.
