Avram Grant is set to finally begin work as technical director with Portsmouth.

The News says Pompey are hopeful former Chelsea boss Grant will finally have his work permit in place by next week, allowing him to take up his position as director of football.

The Israeli hasn't been allowing the grass to grow under his feet, however, having already met with a raft of agents and contacts about improving Paul Hart's Pompey squad.
