Former Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp does not have first refusal to the sign the club's players for his new team Tottenham. A Sunday newspaper report claimed that Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie had told Redknapp that he would have first option on players in the New Year.
However, Storrie has dismissed the report and insists Redknapp's replacement Tony Adams will decide on any future changes to the Fratton Park squad.
"This is laughable," Storrie told the club's official website. "It's a ridiculous article.
"I have had no conversations whatsoever with Harry about players and he can confirm that.
"We have an excellent squad, but it will be new manager Tony Adams' decision on any players going in and out of Portsmouth Football Club."
