Former Portsmouth goalkeeper Alan Knight has urged fans to be patient when Sulaiman Al Fahim finally completes his takeover.
"People are thinking we are going to be buying Samuel Eto'o and what have you," Knight told The News. "We aren't going to go mad. It has to be a gradual process and build things up slowly.
"To chuck money around would be detrimental. It's going to be a transitional period.
"It is going to be about staying in the Premier League and kicking on from there. I understand supporters being frustrated and worried, but there aren't too many people looking to buy football clubs.
"It looks like this man wants to save the club, but wants to do it properly.
"We have to be patient and things will be steadied. Then we can get things right for the long-term future of the club."
