Portsmouth facilities let down Redknapp

Harry Redknapp was forced to cancel training ahead of Portsmouth's Liverpool trip - after dozy ground staff forgot to plug in the under-soil heating, reports the Mirror.

Boss Redknapp restricted his stars to light exercise for fear of injury at their Wellington Sports Ground in Southampton.

Redknapp moaned: "We did not put the shilling in the meter to put the under-soil heating on.

"We have got no under-soil heating at Fratton Park, we have got it at the training ground - but it is no good if someone forgets to turn it on.

"I could not let the players go out and train on it because it is frozen solid.

"I let them do a bit of head tennis and have a run around just to keep them ticking over."

Pompey train 20 miles away from Fratton Park at a school sports ground.

And Redknapp moaned: "Just look at the facilities here. We must be the only club in the Prem who train in a place like this."
