David James is set to leave Portsmouth.
The Mail on Sunday says James will follow Peter Crouch out of Portsmouth if the club's Arab takeover is not completed by the transfer deadline.
It gives chief executive Peter Storrie until August 31 to finalise a deal that will release funds to stop the sale of the England goalkeeper.
