Portsmouth defy the odds and reach FA Cup final

Portsmouth stunned Tottenham with two extra time goals to reach the FA Cup final and a meeting with Chelsea at Wembley. Tottenham dominated in regular time but failed to find a way past a determined Pompey rearguard, and even when the likes of Gareth Bale got behind the defence David James was in fine form in the underdog's goal.

Portsmouth had their rare breakaway chances and Frederic Piquionne three times failed to beat Huerelho Gomes.

However, the striker came good in the 99th minute taking advantage of a Michael Dawson slip to poke home from six yards.

Peter Crouch had a quick-fire equaliser controversially ruled out for a push on James before Kevin-Prince Boateng ensured victory with a penalty.
