Portsmouth have completed a double signing by snapping up Rennes striker John Utaka to add to the capture of Preston North End's England frontman David Nugent.

Twenty-five-year-old Nigeria forward Utaka has agreed a four-year deal with Pompey and is looking forward to the new challenge of life in England.

He commented: "I've dreamed of playing in the Premier League and this is a great opportunity.

"I spoke to Kanu, who was my national team captain, and he told me it was a great place to come."
