Portsmouth chief executive lauds character of boss Hart

Chief executive Peter Storrie is pleased for boss Paul Hart following Portsmouth's upturn in Premier League form. Pompey carved out an unwanted piece of history by losing their first seven league matches of the season amid shambolic scenes off the field and the ownership of the club changing hands.

"I'm delighted for Paul. He deserves success," Storrie said in The Sun.

"It's been such a tough time for everyone but he has been an absolute brick right the way through it.

"It would've been easy to say we're losing games so we need to let Paul go," he explained.

"A lot of managers in his position would have said they wanted to go because he has been taking stick from some of our own fans. There have been campaigns to get him out.

"He has ridden above that and we know he's doing a great job.

"Paul has always had great support from all of the players."
