Stoke City's move for Portsmouth goalkeeper David James has been complicated by a calf injury suffered by the England international.
Peter Storrie, Portsmouth's chief executive, remains confident of doing business with Stoke after declaring: "It's not a serious one. I think it's only one or two weeks out.
"It possibly might delay the deal with Stoke, or it might just change the premise of the deal. It depends how long he is going to be injured."
James, who is desperate for first-team football ahead of this summer's World Cup finals, played the last of his 13 appearances for Pompey this season on December 12.
