Portsmouth chairman Storrie blasts Thaksin reports

Portsmouth chairman Peter Storrie has rubbished claims Thaksin Shinawatra is involved in Sulaiman Al Fahim's takeover.

Storrie told The News: ''There continues to be a lot of rubbish written about this club. At one stage it was finances, yet the majority of the debt is Sacha's (Gaydamak).

"Now it's this. There has been so much nonsense. But I can assure the supporters everything is fine. I have never ever talked with Shinawatra about the club, that's the fact of it.

"I have been dealing solely with Sulaiman Al Fahim and his team - unfortunately there are certain parties that seem to have it in for the football club. There are people who cannot get it through their heads and want to believe anything to the contrary, no matter what we say.

"These are exciting times for the club and unfortunately all some people want to do is try to rubbish all the good going on here. The truth is we are in due diligence and hope to get it completed in the first, probably second week, in July.

"They have found nothing - but that doesn't surprise us."
