With Portsmouth raising their profile in that part of the world because of their participation in the Barclays Asia Trophy this week, it could lead to them hitting the jackpot.
According to Premier League spokesman Dan Johnson, there will be massive benefits to Pompey taking part.
That gives an indication of the levels of money Pompey could tap in to.
Johnson said: "There is massive support for the Premier League in south-east Asia.
"The Barclays Asia Trophy gives those supporters who watch the Premier League week in, week out a chance to see football live.
"The interest is exceptional. You are talking to fans who have a lot of knowledge of Premier League clubs.
"They follow the league on television and on websites. They don't just know about the big players - they can tell you about the youth team players, too. They are passionate.
"There's no doubt there is a commercial value.
"Asia provides a valuable TV market and this competition is a great shop window for clubs.
"That's why we don't just invite Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea to take part.
"Teams like Portsmouth and Fulham weren't in the Premier League a few years ago. They are now steadfast members and want to grow further.
"We were dipping our toe in the water with the first tournament.
"But now we are attracting more sponsors and more television money.
"I can see the competition becoming a regular part of the football calendar."
