Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp admits Middlesbrough's asking price for Yakubu Aiyegbeni is too steep.

Redknapp hopes to convince former Pompey striker Yakubu to join fellow Nigerians Kanu and John Utaka on the south coast.

But he fears being priced out of a move after Everton's £10m bid was rejected by Middlesbrough.

Redknapp said: "I know him but £10m is a lot of dough."
