Portsmouth boss Redknapp urges fans to bring back FA Cup respect

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has urged fans at Wembley today to stay behind and applaud the winning team.

He said: "Whatever happens, I hope all the supporters watch the Cup being presented.

"I couldn't believe it last year. The final whistle went and, suddenly, the stadium was half-empty!

"The Manchester United fans couldn't bear to see the other team lifting the Cup. I found it unbelievable.

"Whatever happened to both teams going around the ground, socks around their ankles, waving to all the fans and getting a proper reception at both ends of the stadium?

"Maybe it's because the Big Four have won the Cup for the last 12 years.

"Their fans go to the final every year and it almost becomes %u2018oh well, Wembley again'.

"But this year it's a new experience for Portsmouth and for Cardiff. That's why we're all so excited about this one.

"So, win or lose, all I'm asking is that the fans think %u2018it's been a great day and a fantastic run' and stay behind to give a real ovation to both sets of players."
