Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp believes Manchester City could be on the brink of great things.
Redknapp admitted: "They will be very strong. I saw what team they put out in Cyprus and they have bags of ability.
"Last year Elano, the Brazilian, was the big arrival and now suddenly you've also got two more - you've got Robinho, you've got Jo, full of flair, and also Shaun Wright-Phillips.
"Mark Hughes must be wondering what is happening to him after going there as manager but if you are presented with the opportunity to buy top players then you don't turn it down.
"And it's possible City could become a top side again just as they were, I remember, in the days of Colin Bell, Franny Lee and Mike Summerbee."
