Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp believes their UEFA Cup clash last week may have contributed to their dismal performance at Manchester City on Sunday.
"Maybe I should have rotated the squad. One or two of them looked like they ran out of steam - they didn't have a run in them," said Redknapp. "Maybe it's too much to ask some of them at the moment to play Saturday, Thursday, Sunday.
"Maybe it's more than they are capable of doing?
"The young kid from (Arsenal) and the young left back (Belhadj) - it's new to them, playing two or three games in a week. Perhaps they found it difficult. Maybe one or two of the other defenders found it a bit tough, maybe I should have changed it around.
"We've got a big week coming up, some big games coming up, we need everyone. We've got Chelsea and Tottenham and then the European game so we've got to pick ourselves up. But I would rather have a week to train to be honest."
