Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp says fullback Glen Johnson deserves an England recall.
Redknapp is adamant Johnson has proved a model professional and valued member of his squad.
Asked about suggestions Johnson may have enjoyed the playboy lifestyle, he said: For me, he's never had a bad attitude.
"He can't help being good-looking - he was born like it, I suppose.
"I just find him a smashing boy - who is better than several players already in the squad."
"He never misses a day's training; he listens to what you say to him - and he wants to learn," the Pompey boss reports.
"He's got everything you need to be a top-class international footballer.
"I don't pick the England team - although I'm sure that if he keeps on playing as he is then he will get his chance before long.
"He just wants to play and he'll never be stopped from playing by anybody here, even if his one fault is that sometimes he chooses to try and play himself out of trouble instead of hitting the ball 40 yards."
