Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp admits he's disappointed losing out to Aston Villa in their battle for Reading fullback Nicky Shorey.

He said: "I am a bit disappointed we haven't got Shorey but you cannot get everybody. It would be great to get every player you go for but it doesn't work out like that and you have to look elsewhere.

"There's nothing happening with Kaboul at the moment. It's all a bit quiet. We'll have to see."
