Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp wants to take Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips on a season-long loan.
The Daily Express says Redknapp is a keen admirer of Wright-Phillips and was hoping to complete a permanent deal for him until he was told no further money was available for transfers.
But after their 4-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, it is believed Redknapp was involved in talks with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and Pompey benefactor Sacha Gaydamak over plans to secure winger Wright-Phillips.
