Portsmouth boss Redknapp chasing Liverpool pair

Portsmouth are chasing Liverpool duo Peter Crouch and Yossi Benayoun, though manager Harry Redknapp has acknowledged money is a factor.

A £9million bid for Crouch has reportedly been rejected by Liverpool and Redknapp is happy to leave the negotiations in the hands of chief executive Peter Storrie.

He said: "I leave all the deals to him. I give Peter a list and off he goes, but because he has been away I don't know the latest.

"Peter is a good bloke, he rarely lets me down, although I understand Liverpool do want more than we are offering (for Crouch). We shall see on that one.

"I'd like to have someone like Yossi Benayoun. He's a top player. I don't know what the chances are of getting him out of Liverpool."
