Portsmouth boss Redknapp big fan of African football

While on tour in Nigeria, Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp confessed he's a huge fan of African football.

After victory over Kano Pillars 5-0, Redknapp said: "It's a great experience. It's only a matter of time before an African country wins the World Cup. I have no doubt about that.

"African players have everything. The ones in my team have great technique, they're hungry to learn and they want success.

"I was very impressed with Kano Pillars, who I thought played some fantastic football. From box to box they were excellent.

"What they lacked was a killer instinct in front of goal, while defensively they got punished for being a bit naïve at times.

"But they worked some excellent set-plays on us - you could see they'd been well coached.

"They were a credit with the way they passed and played. I thought they were a very good team. There wasn't a five goal difference between the teams."
