Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp believes Benjani Mwaruwari can be the club's prime striker - ahead of Nwankwo Kanu.

Redknapp said: "Benji was fantastic last week and will definitely start for me. He has done extremely well so far this season.

"Perhaps he has not scored as many goals as he should have in the past but he is a good player and I have never had a doubt about that.

"The fans love him and the reason is that he covers so much ground in a game. They appreciate that.

"His scoring ratio has not been that great and I want him to improve that.

Confidence is important and he is full of that at the moment. I have a lot of time for him."
