Portsmouth boss Redknapp against foreign limits

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp doesn't want foreign limits introduced into the Premiership.

Redknapp said: "I can't see it making the situation much different for English kids to come through.

"There will always be some, a few. The good ones will always get their chance but where are they nowadays? Go out and find some for me. It's difficult.

"There are a couple at Crystal Palace who look good prospects but I think, generally, kids here don't grow up playing football any more.

"They come home from school and they all have computers and a million things to watch on TV.

"It is difficult with what is happening on the streets now. Can kids play safely on the streets like they did in my day when we just kicked a football around until it was dark?

"Kids were hungry to find a way out from the poor areas and sport was how the talented ones did it.

"It's still the case with some of these young lads in parts of Africa. They are hungry and strong but here, apart from one or two areas, it is different now. There is not anywhere near the old level of desire.

"You can put kids into academies and coach them all you want but you can't teach them the desire. Few have the hunger that's needed."
