He told the Portsmouth News: "I'm just looking for a front man at the moment - that's the important one. We need more bodies up front. That was the case before Kanu went, now we've only got two. We need to strengthen there, for sure.
"Baros is a player I know. I like him and I would be interested. I think he's a good player. He's played in the World Cup for the Czech Republic, who are a very good team, and been a golden boot winner in the European Championships. That's fantastic pedigree for any player.
"And you don't play for Liverpool if you are a mug. He's a top player. I know Peter Storrie has spoken to the people there and that's all at the moment. I don't think there's anything concrete just yet."
