Portsmouth boss Hart refuses to set points target

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart insists he won't set a points target for Premiership safety.

"We have not set a points target," Hart told The News. "We are looking at Hull, then we'll look at West Brom and see what we get from that.

"I'm certainly not living in a fantasy world of plotting and planning, thinking about if we do this and if we do that, if we win all three and that sort of stuff.

"We'll deal with Hull, get that out of the way, then it's on to the next one.

"The week before the Everton game you're looking at yourself third from bottom, it's not pleasant and we hadn't really done anything wrong.

"The idea is now to stay out of that mess and improve the position. We are capable of doing that, but we have got to go about it in the right way.

"The players have been very resolute and played with some freedom as well. But there are no targets, it's taking each game at a time."
