Portsmouth boss Paul Hart is delighted with their capture of former Manchester City defender Tal Ben Haim.
He said: "I think Tal is a fantastic signing.
"He's a great player, has bags of experience and I'm really looking forward to working with him. I'm not quite sure what has happened to him recently. I suppose sometimes a move doesn't always do the trick.
"He's not the only one who has moved on to supposedly greener pastures and found it difficult. It happens. Speaking to Tal, I do know he was well looked after at Bolton. Sam (Allardyce) spent a lot of time with him and built a trusting relationship, which is important.
"He may have missed that, I don't know. I'd like to help with that, though. Now he's ready for the challenge. He is established, proven and hungry.
"He wants to play football and get things back on track and he can do it here with this football club."
