Portsmouth boss Paul Hart is anxious about talking with the club's board about replacing their African Nations Cup stars.
Hart's squad is set to be affected by the loss of up to six players for the African Cup of Nations in January.
And with just six weeks between now and the transfer window, the Blues boss is keen to work out how to combat the problem.
Hart explained: "I suppose we have to pay the price for going with African players.
"They have been available at the right price and I think they have served the club very well.
"But I don't know what we do.
"Until we have the direction from the top, in terms of how the club is settled, it will be difficult to make those judgements and work out what we're going to do."
