Portsmouth boss Tony Adams says he won't stand in Sol Campbell's way if he wants to leave Fratton Park.
Pompey executive chairman Peter Storrie insists it is up to Adams to decide who he wants to stay and who he wants to leave but the new manager, Campbell's former Arsenal and England team-mate, said: "In Sol's case, he'll make his own decision - and whatever it is, that's all right with me."
Campbell, 34, is currently sidelined by a toe injury - along with midfielders Lassana Diarra and Niko Kranjcar, who have ankle problems - and has still to be offered a new deal for next season.
Adams added: "He's his own man. He will do what he wants to do and I wouldn't insult Sol by pushing him in either direction.
"He's been around the block and he's a great pro. I'm sure he will tell us in his own time what he wants to do next and that's fine. He's been fantastic for this club."
