Portsmouth boss Adams insists no pressure to sell best players

Portsmouth boss Tony Adams is adamant he's not under pressure to sell in January.

After their draw with West Brom, Adams was asked about the club's potential sale and said: "In terms of the club being up for sale, we just wanted to be open and honest with everyone. There are a lot of football clubs up for sale.

"The owner said he can't give the time and energy needed. He said he doesn't have to sell it today and it is not going to be tomorrow. It will not be until the right people with the right values come along.

"Am I under pressure to sell players in January? He said nothing changes with that. He has been supportive. I couldn't ask for better people to work for and I am just not saying that.

"If a ridiculous offer comes in, I'll accept it to be honest but he has not said get rid of anyone. It will be my decision, that is the guarantee he has given me.

"In fact, I might add one or two players but that's it. I am not going to panic in January."
