Portsmouth boss Adams hopeful of "two or three" new signings

Portsmouth boss Tony Adams knows he needs to spend this month to strengthen his squad.

"We are looking at two or three players now," said Adams. "It was one or two but that's increased with the injuries we've got.

"There is a little bit in the budget here and there but I don't think the current climate out there is one in which we have got millions. We've got no Dubai people, we are certainly not in that league, but then again we are not looking at big deals.

"There's not a lot I can do, to be honest. It's tight. We haven't got millions and millions of pounds at the moment. Okay, Lassie's gone, but I know how these deals work.

"I haven't got £20m to go and spend and we are paying for a few other players we have bought in the past. I will have the money eventually but it won't be here for me now.

"Those deals are structured, you don't get all the money up front. I will have a lot more money in the summer. At the moment it's tight, like it is in the world, but we're looking all over and trying to find better players at the right price.

"I'll work it and try to get a few here and there."
