Portsmouth boss Tony Adams insists all his players are capable of winning new contracts.
The futures of Sol Campbell, Kanu, Noe Pamarot and Glen Little are still to be settled, with their contracts expiring this summer.
But Adams insists there is still plenty time for them also to win new deals.
He said: "People come in, do well, claim a place, work hard for the team and get a new contract. It's always been the case for me as a player as well.
"I never, ever asked for a new contract. Ever. I just applied myself, worked hard every day in training, did my best, headed the ball, kicked the ball, scrapped away and the managers seemed to like me and they said 'there's a new contract'.
"That's the way I think it should work."
