Portsmouth boss Adams demands Campbell handle Spurs abuse

Portsmouth boss Tony Adams won't consider dropping Sol Campbell for their clash at Tottenham tomorrow.

Campbell, 34, has been a figure of hate for Spurs fans ever since he left them as a free agent to sign for Arsenal back in 2001.

Only this week 11 Tottenham supporters were charged with indecent chanting by Hampshire Police for songs aimed at the powerful centre-half during the match at Fratton Park last September.

But Adams insists: "I've already spoken to Sol about this and told him just to concentrate on his job.

"The fans, the police and the media will all do what they have to do. But what is Sol? He's a footballer. So go out and be a footballer. End of story.

"There is no question of leaving him out for this game. He's a professional and he wants to get on with it. And I'm really proud of that."
