Portsmouth are ready to rekindle their interest for Lyon wide-man Sidney Govou, reports l'Equipe. This is not the first time that Pompey have made an approach for the Auvergne-born star.

Under previous manager, Harry Redknapp, they made enquiries during the summer and had agreed a deal with Lyon, only for Govou to reject the move.

The French international is entering the last 18 months of his contract, but a recent drink driving incident has strained relations with Lyon who may be prepared to move the player on.
