Newcastle United fullback Habib Beye will have the pick of clubs before the summer market shuts.
The News says Portsmouth have shown interest in Beye, who looks to be on his way from Newcastle if the Toon's potential new owners cannot convince the Senegal international to stay.
The 31-year-old would command a fee of around £2.5m, with just a year remaining on his existing agreement.
However, the Blues - also linked with Toon striker Mark Viduka - are one of '20 clubs' said to be keen on the popular ex-Marseille man, although no-one has followed up that interest with a firm bid.
