Manchester City were forced to pull out of talks with Porto for Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando yesterday.
The Daily Mail says negotiations continued throughout Friday and City had a private jet on standby to fly both players to Manchester, but were ultimately not prepared to meet Porto's valuation.
City were prepared to pay £35 million for the pair, but Porto were insisting on much more.
