Porto defender Rolando is interesting Newcastle United.
The Daily Star Sunday says Toon football chief Joe Kinnear is also ready to discuss a move for Rolando who is attracting interest from Everton.
The Portuguese international, 27, had a loan spell with Napoli last season when he was also wanted by QPR.
